Thank you in advance for taking this journey with me. As a cancer survivor, I believe we all have trials and obstacles. After this humbling experience, I realized it was my calling to help others transform and heal. I have worked with families to overcome challenges since 2013. As a therapist, I believe we all have the ability to develop good coping & behavioral skills. My treatment approach is not a one-size-fits-all and is tailored to each individual or family system. Working from evidence-based practice, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral therapy amongst other modalities. Acknowledging that the only expert on your own trials and tribulations is yourself.
I have successfully worked in different settings, such as the family courts system, schools, family homes, and natural environments. Working from a systems approach, I believe one person in a family system can change, and subsequently, the rest will also transform. Working with a person in their natural environment allows the person to open up and be free in a progressive non-restrictive manner. Therefore, the individuals or families will reach their goal faster and make it part of their lifestyle.
I completed all of my schoolings at Barry University, with a Bachelors's in Psychology and a Dual Masters in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage, Family Therapy, and Mental Health.
Having great professors and mentors from many theoretical frameworks has shaped the way I treat my clients. Having all of these different tools has inspired me to treat each client individually exclusively. As well ass utilize strengths and weaknesses to bring out the best in whatever your goal or constraint may be.
Some ways in which I take care of myself are by spending time with loved ones, family, friends, reading, cycling, photography, and time with our bulldog. I look forward to working with you and bring out the best version of yourself. If you wonder what the RCS stood for when I was originally brainstorming, the name the Right Counseling Services stood out to me but wanted something creative, so a play on words was in order. Thus RCS Exclusive Therapy was the outcome.
